New Kaizer Chiefs signing Siphelele Ntshangase revealed that fellow teammate Siphiwe Tshabalala helped him on his debut for the club.

With the scores locked at 1-1, the highly-rated 24-year-old came off the bench against Polokwane City and his one-two with defender Joseph Molangoane led to Dumisani Zuma’s winner.

The former Amajita man revealed what it felt like donning the infamous black and gold jersey for the first time after his highly-publicised move.

‘I am living my dream,’ he told the club’s official website.

‘I knew that the pressure of playing for Kaizer Chiefs is immense. I am ready to handle it. It might not always be smooth sailing but I am ready for the challenge.

‘I’ve always wanted to play for Chiefs. I want to show to the supporters that I am the right player.

‘I am aware they wanted the club to sign me. I am thankful to get this opportunity. The coach told me before the match to be ready,’ he added.

Ntshangase admits that he didn’t expect to make his debut so soon after being unveiled as a Chiefs player.

‘Honestly, I didn’t expect to play so early after my arrival at Chiefs.

‘For a split second I was lost in the magnitude of the moment. That’s when I remembered what Siphiwe Tshabalala had advised me earlier, “keep it simple”.

‘I did what he had suggested and it worked out great. From there on, my confidence grew with each touch of the ball.

‘I’m happy to have to the win. I’m part of a team of very talented players – in the end it has to be about the collective and not the individual,’ he added.

The midfielder also eased the concerns of Chiefs fans after he limped off following a collision.

‘I was not injured. It was just the result of a minor collusion. I am fine and already in full swing preparing for the next game,’ he said.
