Pitso Mosimane has warned Mamelodi Sundowns’ rivals that they will need endurance if they are to challenge the Brazilians for the Absa Premiership crown.

Masadawana currently sit second on the league table, five points behind Kaizer Chiefs with a game in hand on Ernst Middendorp’s men, and two points ahead of Bidvest Wits, although the Clever Boys have a further two games in hand on Downs.

The Brazilians suffered their first league loss of the season two weeks ago with Kaizer Chiefs running out as 2-0 victors at Loftus Versfeld, but Mosimane is quick to insist that one game will not win the league.

‘We are going to fight for the PSL league. We fought for the league with them [Kaizer Chiefs] before and they gave it away,’ said the former Bafana Bafana coach.

‘Then came Wits [in 2015-16] and they gave it away. Pirates for the last years, they gave it away. So we fight again.

‘But the common denominator is us fighting for the league for six years. We came second twice and four times we won it. You must have endurance when you fight with us. You must go six years. We are here.

‘One match doesn’t mean anything,’ concluded Mosimane.

Sundowns are next in action on Wednesday night as they face Baroka FC.
