Kaizer Chiefs striker Gustavo Paez is looking forward to playing against Mamelodi Sundowns’ Leonardo Castro in the Absa Premiership on Saturday.
The Venezuelan striker arrived at the club during the January transfer window, having previously played for Estudiantes de Merida.
He has already attracted attention with his early form and scored his first goal for Kaizer Chiefs during their victory over Stellenbosch in the Nedbank Cup.
The 26-year-old says he is relishing the chance to play against Castro.
‘I’m really excited. My wife and I visited my friend from Sundowns, Leonardo Castro, a few days ago and we spoke about how crucial this game is for our respective teams,’ Paez told the Kaizer Chiefs website.
‘We are both looking forward to playing against each other. We forget about our friendship on the field of play and focus on getting the three points. I’ve been watching a lot of their games and I know their style of play.’
The striker has also previously played for club teams Zamora, ACR Messina, Deportivo La Guaira, Deportivo Lara, RCD Mallorca, Calcio Union Quinto, NK Interblock Ljubljana and Academia Emeritense.
Saturday’s clash at the FNB Stadium kicks off at 20:15.
