Kaizer Chiefs striker Bernard Parker says he is trying to maintain the level of sharpness he showed against Free State Stars on Tuesday.
The 30-year-old netted his second goal of the season during his side’s 3-1 victory over Ea Lla Koto at the FNB Stadium.
Parker says he is staying positive and working hard to maintain his current form for the second half of the season in the Absa Premiership.
‘Self-belief has been key and also always reviewing myself. There was a reason why I was on the bench and why I was injured,’ Parker told the Kaizer Chiefs website.
‘When I was fighting to get myself back on the team I made sure that every time I left training that I gave a good account of myself on the field and that mentality and positive attitude made it easy for me when I eventually got my opportunity to play and things went my way.
‘Now it’s all about trying my best to maintain that level of sharpness and work even harder to preserve my place in the team.’
Kaizer Chiefs will take on Maritzburg United next at the at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday.
Kick-off has been scheduled for 20:15.
