Kaizer Chiefs striker Bernard Parker has revealed that his side are well prepared for their Absa Premiership clash against Maritzburg United at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday.
Despite his slow start to the season, Parker has managed to work his way back into the starting line-up and will be hoping to continue with that same approach in the team’s upcoming match away to Maritzburg United.
The 30-year-old says his side are well aware of the threat the Team of Choice represents, but he insists that his side will be out to collect all three points.
‘Maritzburg United have been a tough one over the years since I have been at Kaizer Chiefs and we always find it difficult against them,’ Parker told the Kaizer Chiefs website.
‘This time around though, we are well aware of what is expected from us and it will be more about our mental willingness to get us through.
‘We are looking solid at the moment and if we go there with a clear mindset, everything will go well for us. Definitely, we will be going there for the three points.’
Parker has urged the Glamour Boys to remain focused on their set goals and take everything ‘game by game’.
‘Our chances are great. I think it’s us alone… We don’t have to worry about what other teams are doing. We need to focus on ourselves and take it game by game,’ He added.
‘The fact that we still need to play each other (top four teams) is actually a good thing, the league is still very much within our reach and it’s for us to go grab it by staying together and to fight for one another.’
Kaizer Chiefs will take on Maritzburg United next at the at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Saturday.
Kick-off has been scheduled for 20:15.
