SuperSport United goalkeeper Reyaad Pieterse believes Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune deserves to win the Absa Premiership Goalkeeper of the Season award.
Pieterse, who worked closely with Khune at Amakhosi, believes that the number of clean sheets kept by the Bafana Bafana shot-stopper means that he is the top contender for the award. Khune kept an impressive league-high 16 clean sheets in the 2017-18 season.
Khune has been named alongside Dennis Onyango of Mamelodi Sundowns and Maritzburg United’s Richard Ofori as the nominees for the Goalkeeper of the Season award.

‘I do expect him to win the award and I am not surprised he is among the nominees,’ Pieterse told Vodacom Soccer.
‘He is a world-class goalkeeper and his experience always helps him.
‘His work ethic is also always at the top and I really learned a lot while I was working for him. It was unbelievable.’
The PSL awards ceremony will take place on Tuesday evening.
