Orlando Pirates have confirmed the signing of Brazilian defender Caio Marcelo, putting an end to speculation surrounding the young defender’s future.
The 20-year-old earned himself a professional contract with the Buccaneers after impressing coach Milutin Sredojevic and his technical team during his trial with the club.

The young defender, who previously spent time on loan at Brazil outfit Vasco Da Gama, was initially spotted during Pirates’ Project X tour of Brazil earlier this year before he was invited for a trial at Mayfair.
The Buccaneers have announced the signing on their official website, which reads: ‘Orlando Pirates Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Caio Marcelo from Nova Iguacu Football Club,’ the club confirmed.
