The league game between Orlando Pirates and SuperSport United has been rescheduled as the Bucs are set to do battle in the Caf Champions League on the same weekend.
The match was originally scheduled for Sunday 3 February when the Soweto giants were set to travel to the Lucas Moripe Stadium for the return leg of the Absa Premiership clash between these old foes.
Pirates, however, are listed to play defending Champions League winners Esperance in a massive clash at the Orlando Stadium on 2 February.
That would have given the Buccaneers just under a day to get ready for the clash, and the league has therefore decided to reschedule the Absa Premiership fixture.
The game will now take place on 26 February in Tshwane, allowing Milutin Sredojevic and his team to focus on their clash with the Tunisian giants.
SuperSport United spokesman David ‘Mazolman’ Skhosane confirmed the change.
‘Yes, it’s true our league fixture against Pirates, which was set for 3 February, has been postponed,’ Skhosane said.
‘The game will now take place on 26 February at Lucas Moripe Stadium.’
Mamelodi Sundowns are also expected to announce a fixture change as they are looking to move the tie against AmaZulu to allow them to focus on the visit by Ivorian giants Asec Mimosas in the Champions League on 2 February.
