Orlando Pirates look to have joined Mamelodi Sundowns in the race to sign Namibia international Deon Hotto from Bidvest Wits.
With the season still on hold due to the coronavirus pandemic, clubs are starting to put into motion their plans for next season.
According to multiple reports, Mamelodi Sundowns and an unnamed club in Qatar have enquired about Hotto’s availability and it is now believed that the Soweto giants are also interested in the midfielder.
‘Both Pirates and Sundowns are running neck and neck for the services of Dean Hotto,’ a source close to the player told KickOff.com.
‘There is also a team in Qatar that sent a representative to talk to his agent.’
The Namibian has declined to comment on speculation regarding his future, while his agent, Machini Motloung, insists he is still a Wits player and he hasn’t received a call from anyone.
‘We haven’t received a call from anyone interested in our client, Deon Hotto,’ said the Bloemfontein-based lawyer.
‘He is still contracted to Bidvest Wits and anyone interested in his services knows the protocol.’
