Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has congratulated the match officials following his side’s victory over Chippa United in the Telkom Knockout Cup.
The Brazilians advanced to the semi-finals of the knockout competition after securing a 4-3 win on penalties after the game finished 2-2 following extra time at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Sunday.
Sundowns will now take on Golden Arrows in the last four hoping to book their place in the final of the competition.
Mosimane showered the match officials with praise, saying he is the only manager who gives them any credit.
‘We need to congratulate the referees, I congratulate them, even when I lose I do congratulate them. But I will also complain even if I win, so I’m congratulating them,’ Mosimane told SuperSport TV after the game.
‘Tell me any coach who congratulates the referees, it’s only me. That perception that Pitso is always complaining about referees; yes, I will complain if they are doing wrong things.
‘I will congratulate the referees and I’ve been fined for congratulating the referees, did you see my charge? I congratulated the referee, I’m fined.
‘So what should I do, criticise them?’
