Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane expects a much-improved Black Leopards when they travel to the Thohoyandou Stadium on Wednesday evening.
The Brazilians will be hoping to continue their goal-scoring form after hammering Côte d’Or 11-0 in the Caf Champions League last Friday to advance to the group stages of the continental tournament.
Sundowns dominated this two-legged fixture in the league last season after claiming a 3-0 victory at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in February before securing a 2-1 win in Thohoyandou two months later.
However, Mosimane is well aware of the threat Lidoda Duvha possesses under new head coach Luc Eymael, who has already claimed his first win since his appointment at Leopards.
‘It’s difficult to go there. It’s a new team with a new coach and that is never normal. What you will see is a team with a performance that goes lower or higher, but usually it’s higher up because players want to impress the new coach,’ Mosimane told his club’s official website.
‘The new coach is tough, we know that. Those who were not playing will want to show him they deserve a chance, so you can imagine what is happening in there. I think they have been training and working hard.’
Mamelodi Sundowns against Black Leopards kicks off at 7:30pm.
