Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has hailed the away form of his side, claiming that they always win when playing in white.
Sundowns were in their white away strip as they travelled to take on Baroka on Sunday. The Brazilians extended their lead at the top of the table with a come-from-behind 2-1 win over Bakgaga.
Speaking on the Masandawana official website prior to the match, Mosimane praised his side’s away form by pointing out that they don’t lose often when playing in their white kit.
‘I like that stat, that’s why the boys say that they like the white jersey. The white jersey doesn’t lose a lot. It always wins,’ Mosimane said.
This claim by the former Bafana Bafana coach is backed up by the fact that his team only lost one league encounter away from home this season. Despite this away form, the 2016 Caf Coach of the Year bemoaned the travelling aspect of away games.
‘But what I don’t like is going to Cape Town, come back and play three days later and then travel again. You could see against Chippa United that we weren’t the Sundowns that we like. It’s squeaky bum time my friend,’ Mosimane added.
Sundowns next take on Bidvest Wits in the Absa Premiership on Saturday, with kick-off at 15:00.
