Pitso Mosimane wants Mamelodi Sundowns to have a similar mentality as Manchester City and Bayern Munich in order to become more ‘ruthless’ in the final third.
Sundowns managed to put five goals past AmaZulu in the Telkom Knockout Cup over the weekend, while recently recording a massive 11-1 victory over Côte d’Or in the Caf Champions League.
The Brazilians have already managed to score a total of 34 goals, while conceding just seven from 12 matches across all competitions.
Speaking to the media after the AmaZulu encounter, Mosimane pointed out that at one point in the game, his side forgot that they are capable of scoring more goals.
‘Once we scored the goals we then went back to this mentality of passing the ball around to show how good we are and forgetting to score the goals,’ Mosimane said.
‘When we played Côte d’Or they were ruthless more than here [against AmaZulu], but they were messing around a little in the second half. But we need to change the mentality and score as many as we can. If Man City can put [up] eight in the Premier League and Bayern can give Spurs seven, we should also do that. That is the mentality.’
