Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane believes midfielder Promise Mkhuma has earned his place with the Brazilians first team.
The 20-year-old was promoted to the senior team on the last day of the transfer window after captaining the club’s MultiChoice Diski Challange (MDC) side this season.
The newly promoted youngster was linked with a move to Maritzburg United during the January transfer window, but opted to remain at Sundowns before signing his first senior team contract.
‘Promise has done very well. He has proved that he deserves my attention. He has really shown that I must look at him. The free kicks have been good and he has been supplying the balls. Let’s see first what Promise can do,’ Mosimane told the club’s official website.
Meanwhile, Mkhuma has promised to stay grounded, saying he will continue to work hard in order to break into the Sundowns starting lineup.
‘I have to sit down with the likes of Keletso, Mkhulise and Madisha and get their advice as to how they absorbed pressure when they were promoted to the first team,’ Mkhuma added.
‘I don’t know what kind of challenges I’m going to face. It shows that they worked hard if you look at where they are and I can also do the same. Their guidance is going to be key for me.’
