Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is hoping his side can continue their good run of form as the race for the league title reaches its final stretch.
Masandawana sit at the summit of the Absa Premiership table standings with a four-point lead over second-placed Kaizer Chiefs and Mosimane has urged his side to take adavantage of being the log leaders.
‘It’s an advantage because you are on top and you have points. When you are on top, everybody wants to shoot at you,’ Mosimane told Kickoff.
‘Somewhere, somehow we have a feeling that when we play, everybody wants us to drop points. (But) I would not want to be in another position. If you asked me would I like to swap positions? Would I rather be five points behind with 10 games to go or I’d like to have five points with 10 games to go? I want the five points, I would like to be where I am. How do I know those people will lose the next three or four games?
‘Yes, the pressure is there [at the top], which is okay, but it’s in our hands. We don’t want favours, not now,’ he concluded.
Masandawana can edge closer to the title if they garner victories against Free State Stars and arch-rivals SuperSport United on Wednesday and Saturday respectively.
