Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has been nominated for the African Men’s Coach of the Year award at the 2019 Caf Awards.

The 55-year-old guided the Brazilians to a record-ninth Absa Premiership title during the 2018-19 season, while narrowly missing out on clinching the Caf Champions League trophy after crashing out in the semi-finals of the competition.

The Sundowns mentor has since led his side to 11 wins, four draws and three defeats in 18 appearances across all competitions so far this season, while they currently sit in second place in the Absa Premiership standings with 18 points from 10 games.

Mosimane, who is nominated alongside nine other coaches for this prestigious award, also saw his side book their place in the Telkom Knockout Cup final after defeating Golden Arrows 2-1 at the Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium over the weekend.
