Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane believes he has earned his bump in salary with his new contract at Chloorkop.

Brazilians president Patrice Motsepe recently confirmed that the former Bafana Bafana mentor signed a new contract with the club.

The 55-year-old coach’s contract at Sundowns was set to expire in June this year, but Motsepe announced that Mosimane has signed on for a further four years.

Mosimane is reportedly expected to bag around R65 million – in salary and bonuses – during his four-year contract at Sundowns.

‘I have been respected on the contract and I am not complaining,’ Mosimane said at the announcement of his new deal last week.

‘I think the compensation also has been on the level of a coach on the continent. I feel good, but you must know I have worked for it for seven-and-a-half years. I have laboured.

‘You know, you get European coaches getting bigger amounts just by pitching up because he is from Europe when he didn’t even work for it. You know what I am trying to say. I have earned it.’
