Despite an attacking masterclass, Pitso Mosimane singled out the efforts of defenders Motjeka Madisha and Wayne Arendse in Mamelodi Sundowns’ MTN8 quarter-final victory against Golden Arrows.

Goals by Sibusiso Vilakazi and Arendse against a resilient Arrows side saw Masandawana stay on track to claim their first ever MTN8 title.
The Masandawana coach reserved praise for his two central-defenders, who he felt did well in thwarting out the dangers of Knox Mutziwa and Lerato Lamola.
‘Our centrebacks were solid because to play against Lamola and Mutizwa is not easy. Madisha and Wayne did well,’ he said in post-match comments.
‘Wayne did not play last week and he did well, and he scored. I am happy when my centrebacks are scoring at set-pieces, it is beautiful.
‘The captain [Hlompho Kekana] looked fresh because we dropped him on Tuesday this past week. Andile [Jali] looks good and he showed his experience.
‘Arrows looked good at times and you can see they can play, but our defence was better,’ he concluded.
