Pitso Mosimane is reluctant to talk about Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Maluleka’s move to Mamelodi Sundowns.
The Glamour Boys offered the 31-year-old a two-year contract extension plus one-year option to renew on his current contract, but talks between Amakhosi and Maluleka ended unexpectedly when he turned down the deal.
Amakhosi have since announced that the Bafana Bafana midfielder has signed a pre-contract with Sundowns following a bout of negotiations.
However, Mosimane refuses to comment on the move until the Brazilians officially confirm the news of Maluleka’s transfer.
‘No, I don’t want to talk about George Maluleka. Sundowns must speak about George Maluleka,’ Mosimane told the media.
‘I’m not Sundowns. I’m the coach. If I’m Sundowns then I do everything. So, let Sundowns announce George Maluleka but until they announce George Maluleka then it can’t be official. At the moment, it’s a rumour,’ Mosimane told the media.
The 31-year-old midfielder’s performance for Amakhosi this season has earned him a place in Molefi Ntseki’s 25-man Bafana Bafana squad for their back-to-back fixtures against Sao Tome e Principe in the Africa Cup of Nation 2021 qualifiers.
Mamelodi Sundowns will now focus on their upcoming Absa Premiership clash with Orlando Pirates at the Orlando Stadium on Tuesday, with kick-off set for 7:30pm.
