Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has shot down claims that the defending Caf Champions League winners are in state of decline following consecutive losses against Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu.
Large sections of the Sundowns faithful have been calling for an assessment of the team following their dismissal from the Champions League, in addition to succumbing to back-to-back defeats in the league.
When asked about his thoughts on the fanbase believing that the club is in a state of crisis after every loss, Mosimane reminded fans of his winning record as coach, suggesting that the club are victims of their own success.
‘No! No! No! Crisis? Are you serious? Crisis? How many games have I lost? Do you know how many I am still going to lose? Did you see the log? We don’t lose a lot,’ he told reporters.
‘Have you checked in the last five years how many matches I have lost?
‘In four years, out of 120, I have not lost more than 25 games. I think that I have done well. Crisis? No! Who lost less last year?
‘Who scored more? Who is in the quarter-finals of the Champions League?,’ he said.
Sundowns will look to get back to winning ways when they face Chippa United in the last-16 of the Telkom Knockout tournament on Sunday.
