Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane admits that is saddened by the resignation of close friend and former Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela.
The former Maritzburg United announced his resignation following the 2-0 loss to Free State Stars, which ensured that Komphela went whole seasons without lifting an official trophy.
‘Yeah, I’m sad. Very sad,’ Mosimane said after his side’s loss to Maritzburg.
‘He’s a big character, he’s a big guy, he’s a good man. You know, I’m sad to lose one of our own.
‘It’s not nice, you know… maybe even if he won the Nedbank Cup, he would still have gone,’ he added.
Komphela’s ford guide at Chiefs makes for dismal reading. In his 112 games in charge, he won 47, drew 38 and lost 27 games with a win ratio of 42%.
