Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane is convinced that log leaders Bidvest Wits are front-runners to win the Absa Premiership title this season.
The Clever Boys finished the first half of the campaign at the top of the league standings with 30 points from 15 games so far this season, three points above closest rivals Orlando Pirates.
For their part, the Brazilians currently occupy fifth place on the log with 22 points, having only played 12 games this campaign due to their exploits in the Caf Champions League.
Mosimane says Wits stand a better chance of winning the league title, as they have a lighter fixture load than the club’s competitors in the Caf competitions this season.
‘It’s going to be tough,’ Mosimane told the media.
‘Remember, you must add six more games [to our schedule]. You also have to travel, so that’s why I tip Wits to be at the forefront because they will be a well-rested team.’
Mamelodi Sundowns will be back in action on 5 January 2019 when they take on Kaizer Chiefs in the Absa Premiership at the FNB Stadium.
