Orlando Pirates winger Vincent Pule has reportedly started training again with the Soweto giants over the international break as he looks to return to action for the first time since October 2021.
The winger picked up and injury while with Bafana Bafana ahead of the Fifa World Cup qualifying match against Ethiopia in October last year and, while Pule was set to return to the team last month, he suffered a relapse on his quad tear.
In February, Pirates co-coach Fadlu Davids revealed that they were being cautious with his return.
“He was very close to coming back but had a slight setback, so a cautious approach is now what is needed for him to pass his minimal standards in relation to his rehabilitation and, hopefully, we’ll have him back. I don’t want to put my head on the block, [but] by April or late March,” Davids told journalists last month.
However, according to reports, the 30-year-old is now back in training with his side and will undoubtedly be a huge boost as the season heads to the business end.
According to SoccerLaduma, Pule is set to make his return when Pirates take on Sekhukhune United next Wednesday.
