Cape Town City have confirmed that Austrian midfielder Roland Putsche has signed a new two-year contract extension with the club.
The 26-year-old joined Eric Tinkler’s side on a free transfer in June last year, where he played a crucial role in helping his side go on to win their first Telkom Knockout trophy in the first six months of the clubs existence.
The Austrian midfielder will be hoping to add to his goal tally of three goals from 24 appearances in all competitions after signing a new two-year deal, as the club continues to make their mark in the Absa Premiership.
The club has now confirmed that they are extending Putsche’s contract, and are looking forward to what the future awaits for the player and the club.
‘Adjusting to the game in the PSL is not always the easiest task, but Roland has become an integral member of the team – breaking down and dominating every midfield CTCFC face.
‘Off the field, he has really taken to the city of Cape Town and the wonderful people in it.
‘Roland and the club are both very excited for the future and we await many more special moments from a true team player.’
The Cape side are currently placed first in the Absa Premiership standing with 42 points, having won 12 out of 22 matches played so far this season, with Bidvest Wits trailing them by a point in second, and with two games in hand over the leaders.
Cape Town City will next take on Platinum Stars when the two sides meet in the Absa Premiership on Thursday, Aprill 13.
The match at the Moruleng Stadium kicks off at 19:30.
