Former Orlando Pirates attacker Thabo Rakhale’s future remains unclear as he is still unsure where he’ll be playing next season after parting ways with Chippa United.
The 30-year-old joined the Chilli Boys from the Buccaneers in January 2018 and established himself as a crucial member of the first team.
Rakhale found the back of the net on five occasions while recording 10 assists from 68 appearances across all competitions during his time with the Chilli Boys.
Rakhale is itching to get back on to the field, despite not knowing where he will be playing next season.
‘I don’t know yet what the future holds but one thing I want to do is to play football. It doesn’t matter where I play,’ Rakhale told the Daily Sun.
‘If an overseas offer comes, I will have a look and if I am happy, I will go.
Rakhale went on to open up about his departure from Chippa.
‘When I left Pirates to join Chippa, I wasn’t myself mentally and emotionally, hence my performance took a knock and dropped,’ he revealed.
‘You know when you’re a player and not playing, everything just stops. I had to leave Pirates because I wanted to play and Chippa chairman Siviwe Mpengesi welcomed me.’
The Vanderbijlpark-born Rakhale has also been linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs, but he has since revealed that he has not been in contact with Amakhosi.
‘I know of that rumour. It has been making the rounds for some time now but honestly speaking, it’s not true. I don’t know anything about that. They have never approached me.’
