Kaizer Chiefs defender Ramahlwe Mphahlele has urged everybody to ignore communication from a fraudster who is using his name under the guise of a coach who is organising trials for players.

The 27-year-old, who is out injured at the moment, says the fraudster is using popular messaging service WhatsApp to communicate with coaches in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge.

‘He started by calling the MDC coach of Polokwane City, claiming to be Ramahlwe Mphahlele and then saying his cousin wants to play for Polokwane City,’ Rama told KickOff.

‘Then the coach said we will organise and have a look at him. Then this guy [the fraudster] says to the Polokwane City coach “if you want something, don’t be shy to say and I can give you something.”

‘That’s when the coach got suspicious. I’ve tried to call this guy, but he did not pick up and he blocked my calls.

‘Today [Tuesday] at training Daniel Cardoso says “coach Ronny at AmaZulu says he has been speaking to you on WhatsApp”, but I don’t have WhatsApp.

‘So this guy [the fraudster] has my picture as his profile picture on WhatsApp. I am worried because he is going to tarnish my name. He might go and do other things using my identity. I call for people to ignore this guy,’ he concluded.
