Mamelodi Sundowns forward Pavol Safranko says he is learning every day, always looking for new ways to help the team succeed.

The 27-year-old joined Sundowns from Romanian outfit Sepsi OSK on 1 July 2021, where he scored 17 goals and assisted a further 10 from 71 appearances in all competitions.

Safranko has since spent three months with the Brazilians and featured 11 times for the Tshwane side, scoring three goals.

Within his short time at the club, the Slovak striker has already won his first piece of silverware in the MTN8 trophy when Sundowns beat Cape Town City in the final on 30 October this year.

Speaking to his club’s official website, Safranko opened up, among other things, about his favourite meal during his three months in South Africa.

“One of the things I enjoy about South Africa is oxtail and pap,” Safranko said.

The Slovak striker also touched on how he has been settling in and integrating into the Brazilians squad.

“It’s interesting and very different, to be honest, but I am trying to learn every day how I can help the team. Sundowns is an amazing club with amazing people,” he added.

Safranko concluded by saying goalkeeping duo Denis Onyango and Reyaad Pieterse are the funniest teammates, while also revealing that Divine Lunga, George Maluleka, Brian Onyango, Kermit Erasmus and Ricardo Nascimento are his closest teammates.

“The funniest I would say is a tight battle between Denis Onyango and Reyaad Pieterse, those two guys are really funny.

“I can’t particularly point to only one person that I am close within the team, there is Divine Lunga, George Maluleka, Brian Onyango, Kermit Erasmus and Ricardo Nascimento – if I can just mention a few. There’s so many good people in this team I can’t choose,” he concluded.
