Bloemfontein Celtic coach Lehlohonolo Seema believes his side will play to their ‘maximum best’ when they take on Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday.
Phunya Sele Sele will now play host to the Brazilians when they meet at the Dr Molemela Stadium in a mouthwatering clash in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday.
The 36-year-old coach believes the break has given his side enough to prepare for their clash against the African champions for their first match of the second half of the Absa Premiership season.
‘Even though we went to recess with a win against Orlando Pirates we were still lacking in so many areas and we wanted to rectify them,’ Seema told the Bloemfontein Celtic website.
‘The break has somehow given us sufficient time to do exactly that. Trying various combinations and giving a chance to other players to fight for a spot in the starting eleven has created a nice, positive and enthralling mood in our camp.’
The former Lesotho captain admits that playing the Brazilians in their first match of 2017 will motivate his players to better their performance on the day.
‘Playing against the African Champions in our first game of 2017 and considering our “unsafe” league position, that will prompt our players to perform to their maximum best,’ He added.
‘The significance of winning in front of our enthusiastic bunch of supporters will encourage our players to do well. All our players are raring to go and it is a nice stress trying to see who can be in the line-up.
‘We will give Sundowns all the respect that they deserve but we will stick to our game plan and make sure we become triumphant. We are ready.’
Bloemfontein Celtic against Mamelodi Sundowns kicks off at 19:30.
