Orlando Pirates got back to winning ways with a 2-0 win over TS Galaxy at the Orlando Stadium in their DStv Premiership clash on Saturday afternoon.
After back-to-back draws, the Sea Robbers got off to the perfect start as Bandile Shandu fired them into the lead with 14 minutes gone, smashing home from a tight angle after reacting quickest to a parry by Galaxy goalkeeper Marlon Heugh.
Pirates were in control of the game and almost doubled their lead on the half-hour mark as Kwame Peprah was slipped through on goal, but he couldn’t beat Heugh with his low strike.
It was 1-0 at the break, with Pirates sitting comfortably.
The Soweto giants picked up where they left off in the second half as Colins Makgaka got on the end of a Deon Hotto cut-back to tap home and double the lead for his side.
Galaxy struggled to get back into the game, but it started to open up in the closing stages with chances at both sides, but neither team could find the back of the net as Pirates secured the 2-0 win.
