Kaizer Chiefs are reportedly close to agreeing a deal to bring Dillon Sheppard in as Gavin Hunt’s assistant.
The Soweto giants named Hunt as Ernst Middendorp’s successor on Thursday afternoon and they now look to be moving quickly to wrap up their backroom staff ahead of the new season.
According to multiple reports, Hunt is keen on reuniting with Sheppard, whom he worked with at the now defunct Bidvest Wits, at Naturena. The former Bafana Bafana international was at the Village on Friday as they look to thrash out a deal.
‘Sheppy’ spent the past six years under Hunt, starting out as a player with Bidvest Wits before retiring in 2017 and taking up a coaching role in the club’s youth structures as well as helping out in the first team.
Amakhosi great Arthur Zwane has also been tipped to form part of the first team trinity.
