Orlando Pirates forward Justin Shonga says the Buccaneers have been training hard towards getting the right result against Kaizer Chiefs on Saturday.
Shonga, who joined the Buccaneers from Zambian side Nkwazi in September 2017, has already managed to make 14 appearances in all competitions while scoring three and creating a further four goals in the process.
The Zambian international says his side have been working hard to prepare for the Soweto derby to get a positive result and for the rest of the season.
‘As players we are working hard towards getting the right result, not so much for the derby but overall. Because we want to do well for the fans and for the badge,’ Shonga told the media.
‘The derby is big all over the world. I started following it more when [Isaac] Chansa and [Collins] Mbesuma were playing. As Zambians we were proud of them playing in such big games’
The 21-year-old continued to say that he is also looking forward to representing the Buccaneers in the Caf Champions League.
‘I would love to play in the Caf Champions League with Orlando Pirates,’ he added.
Orlando Pirates will be hoping to walk away with all three points when they take on Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the Absa Premiership on Saturday, with kick-off scheduled for 15:30.
