Gaston Sirino of Mamelodi Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns star Gaston Sirino feels confident and comfortable at the club, aiming to further improve to help Downs win more silverware.

The Uruguay international made an almost instant impact since arriving at Chloorkop in January 2018 from Bolivian outfit Club Bolivar, after a personal scouting trip by coach Pitso Mosimane.

The mercurial forward is now closing in on his 100th appearance for the Brazilians and he told the club’s website that he is looking forward to winning more trophies at the club.

‘It’s been a special journey winning two Absa Premiership titles and a Telkom Knockout trophy,’ the player said, ‘and the truth is I’ve grown a lot in my time with the club. I’ve learned a lot with the team, like the position I’m currently playing in is where I’m most comfortable and feel the most confident in.’

Sirino has scored 13 goals in 33 matches across all competitions this season and he wants to continue to grow and add to his goalscoring prowess.

‘My goals with the club has stayed the same since I’ve joined – to play at my best each week, help the team where I can, score goals, win trophies and keep growing as a player,’ he concluded.
