Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas has linked Khama Billiat’s influence at the club to that of Lionel Messi’s at Barcelona.
Billiat made the switch from Chloorkop to Naturena in the past transfer window after five successful seasons with Mamelodi Sundowns.

His impact has been instant as he has had a hand in 50% of the Amakhosi’s goals so far this season in all competitions, after yet another impressive display against AmaZulu, where he provided the assist for Siyabonga Ngezana’s second-half goal in the 2-0 victory.
Speaking after the game to the club’s official website, Solinas described his team as 10 players plus Billiat, while likening his influence to that of Barcelona superstar Messi.

‘Barcelona have 10 players and Messi. Kaizer Chiefs have 10 players and Billiat.
‘Khama is the best player in the PSL and he’s one of those rare players who makes the difference,’ added the Italian.
The Glamour Boys have a week-long break before facing Highlands Park on 2 October, allowing time for the coach to work with his players on the training ground.
‘I am happy about the break because that means that we can work hard to become even better.
‘I am happy defensively, we defend as a team … The players show commitment in training and are eager to learn and improve. We just have to continue doing this.
‘I am an optimist – our spectators haven’t seen the best of Kaizer Chiefs as yet,’ concluded Solinas.
