Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas gave his thoughts on his side’s performance against Polokwane City on Saturday evening.
The Glamour Boys’ seven-game unbeaten run in the Absa Premiership came to an end after they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Rise and Shine in Durban.
The Italian tactician was not happy with his side’s first half showing, but was satisfied with their second half performance, despite conceding, while admitting thats how football works.
‘I’m disappointed for the first half. The second half, no, the guys played well. In the first half there was no mobility, no movement,’ Solinas told SuperSport TV after the match.
‘We did not understand how they attack, [from] their back four, no clear idea. But in the second half the guys performed.
‘It’s a particular game, they score and stay at the back. They did not create the chances, only the [goal]. But this is a football game this situation can happen.
‘In the second half in my opinion the performance is positive. It’s not easy to play the second half in this manner because they stay all team behind the ball. The space is very tight.
‘But the guys in the second half played football it’s a pity. Congratulations to Polokwane City. We move forward, we continue to work hard. This is the life, this is the football.’
