Kaizer Chiefs forward Khama Billiat has lifted the lid on what transpired between him and Thembinkosi Lorch in the Telkom Knockout Cup last weekend.
The Amakhosi star was initially fouled by Lorch in the 30th minute when he allegedly walked over Billiat’s ankle after fouling the Amakhosi man, which lead to retaliation from the Chiefs players.
As a result of the incident, Lorch only received a yellow card, although many would argue that the reigning Player of the Season should have been shown a straight red card.
However, Billiat has downplayed suggestions that there is a beef between him and Lorch, stating that the emotions took over in a game of that magnitude.
‘We don’t have any beef. It happens in big games where emotions run high and things are done in the heat of the moment,” Billiat told the media during a press conference.
‘I know this because I also do some crazy stuff at times. We are cool, we spoke about it after the game. I don’t think his actions were deliberate.
‘Orlando Pirates are a big team with quality players, I don’t think they will target me.’
Kaizer Chiefs against Orlando Pirates kicks off at 3:30pm.
