Kaizer Chiefs forward Khama Billiat believes his side can beat Orlando Pirates and claim bragging rights if they go into the match in the “right state of mind”.

The Glamour Boys will be hoping to do the double over Pirates when they square off at the Orlando Stadium in the DStv Premiership on Saturday afternoon.

The Zimbabwe international is no stranger to scoring against Pirates and has already scored seven goals and claimed 10 assists in 22 matches against the Buccaneers.

Billiat is in fine form as he managed to score the winning goal in their 1-0 victory over Baroka FC this past weekend, taking his season tally to seven goals in 18 matches.

“It is a big game, but I always want to play the game – and not the occasion – and not get carried away. We are old enough to not let little things affect the outcome of the game. We want to be professional about the game. We want to enjoy it and win it,” Billiat told his club’s official website.

“I feel we can only do well if we concentrate on our game. If we follow the instructions and go into the game with the correct state of mind, how we train and how the week goes will also determine how well we do.

“I am grateful. Injuries have not been as serious as in previous seasons. Most importantly, I am happy to contribute. We have a great understanding among each other and this is helping me to grow as a player.

“It’s not just about me scoring, it’s more about contributing. I want to get the tactics from the coach and positively contribute. Scoring goals is a confidence booster. It’s about growing your game and showing professionalism by sticking to the plan.”

Kaizer Chiefs against Orlando Pirates kicks off at 3:30pm.
