Orlando Pirates defender Innocent Maela insists that their upcoming Soweto derby against rivals Kaizer Chiefs will not be about getting revenge but getting the result.
The Soweto giants are set to lock horns for the second time in seven days when the two sides meet at the FNB Stadium in the Absa Premiership on Saturday.
The last time the two sides met, Amakhosi claimed their bragging rights after securing a 4-2 win on penalties in the Telkom Knockout Cup at the Moses Mabhida Stadium last weekend.
However, Maela has urged his teammates to remain calm and focus on implementing their own game plan as they prepare for the Soweto derby.
‘We are feeling strong, we are feeling confident and we know that if we keep going, working hard in training, and implementing our game model, results will come our way,’ Maela told the media.
‘No, it’s not about revenge but it’s just one of the PSL matches. We have to go out there and ensure we play well. We have to implement our model well.
‘We have to go out there and ensure we trust each other, we know if we do that we are capable of getting the results.’
Orlando Pirates against Kaizer Chiefs kicks off at 3:30pm.
