The Buccaneers got their campaign off to a slow start and have only managed to claim four wins out of 11 games in all competitions, while playing to three draws and conceding four defeats in the process.

However, Pirates will be hoping to return to winning ways when they take on rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the Telkom Knockout Cup quarter-finals at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Saturday.

Speaking ahead of Pirates mammoth clash against Amakhosi, Mokwena wants his side to improve their performance and in the hope of grinding out positive results.

‘If there was a column for remarks and performances on the results, we’d be satisfied, I think we’d be on top of the log but that’s not how football works, unfortunately.

‘At this moment, the performance does not speak the same language as the results and we can’t be satisfied.

‘We are a big club and we know that once a big club starts to accept performances ahead of results, then it loses its status as a big club.’

Orlando Pirates against Kaizer Chiefs kicks off at 3pm.
