Kaizer Chiefs forward Mduduzi Shabalala admits they have been playing “well” but are not getting the desired results as they head into a mouth-watering Soweto derby clash against Orlando Pirates this weekend.
The 19-year-old was part of the Amakhosi squad that suffered a 3-2 defeat against Golden Arrows after he played 68 minutes in which he found the back of the net.
Shabalala has now taken his goal tally for Chiefs up to two goals in eight appearances in the DStv Premiership so far this season.
The Chiefs attacker has now urged his side to maintain consistency in their results ahead of the much-anticipated Soweto derby, which takes place this weekend.
“For me, it’s a great opportunity, young as I am, to maintain the same focus and consistency and take it into the game,” Shabalala said.
“We must play the game, not the occasion. The most important thing is to enjoy and focus on ourselves.
“We have been playing well. It’s just that we haven’t been getting the results that we want.”
