Orlando Pirates coach Milutin Sredojevic has admitted that players will always play through the pain to take part in games such as the Soweto derby, writes DEAN WORKMAN.

With their rivals Kaizer Chiefs struggling on the injury front ahead of Saturday’s Soweto derby at the FNB Stadium – star forwards Khama Billiat and Leonardo Castro are looking likely to miss out – Sredojevic admitted that his players would play through the pain if need be.

‘In these types of matches, whatever is paining me is not paining anymore! I’m not injured, I’m ready,’ said the Serbian tactician at the pre-match press conference building up to the derby.

‘That has been the attitude since Monday in training, and we want to put the seeds in the training to get the performance that our supporters expect from us.’

Micho said that his side have been preparing for this game for a while and that the mood in the camp is good as they look for another derby victory over their arch-rivals.

‘The preparation has been going well. You could taste, you could smell, you could feel that we want to do our best on Saturday,’ concluded Sredojevic.
