Orlando Pirates coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevic was adamant that assistant coach Rulani Mokwena’s comments are in the history books saying that the Soweto derby victory is all that matters, writes DEAN WORKMAN.

The Buccaneers came from behind to secure a confidence-boosting 2-1 win over rivals Kaizer Chiefs in the Soweto derby at the FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The derby action, however, kicked off on Monday when Mokwena’s comments got tongues wagging after he claimed that Kaizer Chiefs miss Steve Komphela’s tactical acumen, suggesting Chiefs are tactically weak under Solinas.

Although the comments were chalked down as ‘mind games’ by the Chiefs camp, Sredojevic, speaking to the media after the game, insisted that they were necessary but matter little after his team secured the three points.

‘I will not go deeper into it, but I can assure you the mission has been accomplished, we have won the game, and this is [the only] thing that matters,’ responded the Serbian when asked about the comments.

‘The rest of the things will go into the history books, and we will look to serve up a different kind of food in that regard.

‘This is needed in preparation for the match and I will not comment further,’ concluded the Serbian tactician.
