Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur Zwane says they are focused on themselves and their own game plan as they prepare for the much anticipated Soweto derby encounter against Orlando Pirates on Saturday afternoon.
The Glamour boys will be hoping to bounce back and return to winning way after they fell to a thrilling 3-2 defeat against Golden Arrow in their previous DStv Premiership clash over the weekend.
Meanwhile, Pirates comes into this fixture with some confidence after they clinched a 2-1 victory over Maritzburg United at the Orlando Stadium this past weekend.
Chiefs currently occupy fifth place in the DStv Premiership standings with 28 points from 20 matches, while Pirates are in third position with 31 points after 20 matches.
“Good vibes. In terms of preparations, things have been going well, except for our challenges in terms of injuries. But, of the available players, most of them are trying to raise their hands, which is good for us going forward,” Zwane told his club’s official website.
“The analysts have given us a clue. With this kind of game, though, it’s not easy to get information on how the opposition is going to approach the match. But whatever we have, we will use as a tool to execute our plan.
“We tried, by all means, to avoid what’s happening off the field. Off-the-field things can take a lot of energy from the players. The guys have done that very well, focusing more on the game plan and ourselves, rather than what’s going on outside.
“Hopefully we will continue with that until tomorrow. If we can do that we stand a good chance of performing at our best and can geting it right.”
