Stellenbosch FC have officially announced that they parted ways with former Bafana Bafana defender Morgan Gould.
The 37-year-old joined Stellies at the start of the 2019-20 season from SuperSport United, where he spent three years, having also had stints at Jomo Cosmos and Kaizer Chiefs.
The Soweto-born defender struggled for game time under Steven Barker and only managed to feature 11 times across all competitions this season.
However, after failing to earn a short-term contract with the Cape-based outfit, Gould will now effectively be a free agent from 1 July.
A post on the Stellies’ official Twitter account read: ‘Stellenbosch FC would like to take this opportunity to thank Morgan Gould for his phenomenal service to the club, on and off the pitch.
‘His leadership and guidance in the locker room will surely be missed by all of us at the club. All the best MG!’
