Mamelodi Sundowns have announced the signings of Peter Shaluile and Mothobi Mvala from the recently sold Highlands Park on five-year deals.
News emerged that the duo would be joining up with the domestic treble winners a couple of weeks ago when it became clear that the Lions of the North were looking to sell their PSL status to Tim Sukazi and TS Galaxy.
The Highlands owners were keen to cash in on the sale of the star pair and Sundowns moved quickly to secure the signatures of two players who have impressed many over the last two seasons.
Shalulile shared the Golden Boot award with Orland Pirates star Gabadinho Mhango last season, while Mvala has earned a call up to the Bafana Bafana squad in his time at Highlands.
“I joined Sundowns because I think it’s one of the best clubs in Africa and I want to win trophies. It’s a platform for me to play in Africa with the CAF Champions League,“ said Shaluile on his new club.

27-year-old Shalulile scored 16 goals in the 2019/20 season, with three in the Nedbank Cup. The Namibian international made 85 appearances scoring 29 goals and collecting eight assists during his five years in Tembisa.
“Every season Sundowns competes for trophies, which is something you want as a player, to win something for yourself, for your family, for the supporters, for everyone, I’m looking forward to meeting all the players, so that we can share good moments and keep winning, ” said Mvala following signing for Downs.
Still only 26, Mvala will add another dimension to the Downs midfield with his size and presence making him perfect for football on the continent.
