Following the announcement of Pitso Mosimane’s new contract at Mamelodi Sundowns, assistant coach Manqoba Mngqithi has also extended his stay at Chloorkop.
The deal is yet to be made official by the club, but the former Golden Arrows manager has revealed that he will add to the continuity of the club by winning trophies and beating Downs’ rivals.
‘I have renewed my contract. It’s a done deal. It is just that it is yet to be official,’ Mngqithi told DailySun.
‘You know when you win one cup, you want to win all of them. I’m talking about every year. When I don’t win against Orlando Pirates, I feel bad. When I don’t beat Kaizer Chiefs, I feel bad because I want to win. When I don’t beat Baroka FC, I feel bad, I don’t want to lose.’
The assistant has been at the club since 2014 and has enjoyed a trophy-laden spell, winning four PSL titles, two Telkom Knockout Cup trophies, one Nedbank Cup, and the Caf Champions League and Super Cups gold medal.
The coach has reportedly mirrored Mosimane’s deal by signing a four-year contract and is aiming to help bring a 10th Absa Premiership title home when the season resumes following the coronavirus pandemic.
