Mamelodi Sundowns co-coach Rulani Mokwena has revealed that the club are very close to completing the signing of a player who will be “very important” for the rest of the season.
The Brazilians are currently cruising to a fifth consecutive league title with the current squad bulldozing all in front of them.
However, they are not content and look to add to that already powerful squad in the upcoming window, according to Mokwena.
“Every window there is work to be done. I think we are very close to concluding one transfer, incoming. We are very close, but I am tight-lipped on that one,” Mokwena revealed after the 2-1 won over Baroka.
“The club will release a statement. We are close to signing a player who will be very important for us this season and we felt that we needed a bit more cover with regard to that. We don’t have that type of profile, and an interesting profile.
“Hopefully, we can still strengthen with one or two others, but not too much business in this window. Maybe one or two to go out on loan,” Mokwena concluded.
