Mamelodi Sundowns have agreed a deal to bring Maritzburg United midfielder Siphesihle Ndlovu to the club at the end of the season.
The move was confirmed by Maritzburg chairman Farook Kadodia on Wednesday.
Speaking to KickOff.com, Kadodia revealed that while they have agreed the deal in principle, Ndlovu still needs to finalise personal terms with the Absa Premiership champions.
‘The clubs have agreed in principle on the terms. The player still needs to agree on terms, he hasn’t signed yet,’ said Kadodia.
According to the KickOff report, a source revealed that it looks as though the deal has been in progress ever since the Brazilians swooped in for Lebogang Maboe back in August.
‘Ndlovu was long [ago] signed by Sundowns and the deal was completed at the same time as Maboe,’ said the source.
The source also revealed that the players’ attitude has been questioned since the inquiries, while also stating that Ndlovu had his heart set on joining Orlando Pirates, but Maritzburg received a more lucrative offer from Downs.
Ndlovu was named the PSL’s Young Player of the Season and Midfielder of the Season in 2017/18 but has endured a difficult start to the current campaign after serving a two-game ban following his dismissal against Kaizer Chiefs.
The lack of playing time also cost the 22-year-old a space in Stuart Baxter’s Bafana Bafana squad for the upcoming back-to-back African Nations Cup qualifiers with Seychelles.
