Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach Manqoba Mngqithi has confirmed they are set for the return of forward Gaston Sirino for their Telkom Knockout Cup semi-final clash with Maritzburg United.

Sirino has been on the sidelines for a month after he picked up a knee injury during their victory over Chippa United in the quarter-finals.

The Brazilians assistant coach also confirmed that winger Themba Zwane remains unavailable for their last-four clash due to a hamstring injury.

‘It’s a blow for us. We lost some key players. The bad part is we lost some offensive players,’ Mngqithi told the media.

‘Gaston Sirino has been out for a long time but we are hoping he will be back for this one. Mshishi [Zwane] has been out and looks like he will miss this one.

‘Everybody knows what Mshishi can do for us but we can’t complain and say we are short of players.’
