Mamelodi Sundowns completed a clean sweep of the monthly Absa Premiership awards for April after Pitso Mosimane was awarded Coach of the Month and Percy Tau was named Player of the Month, writes DEAN WORKMAN.
It came as no surprise for the Brazilians, to walk away from the PSL head offices on Wednesday afternoon with the top prizes after they secured their eighth PSL title this weekend.
It was the second time this season that Mosimane was named as the month’s top coach, but he reserved special praise for his colleagues, who he says were vital to the overall success of the team.
Tau has enjoyed a stellar campaign and has been largely tipped to win the Player of the Season award. The striker has scored a league-high 11 goals and revealed that the only difference between this season and the last is that he has taken the chances that have come his way.
Sundowns will take on Bloemfontein Celtic in the last game of the season on Saturday, with kick-off at 3pm.
