Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has revealed that the Chloorkop-based team are interested in signing Brazilian forward Nathan Junior.

The young Brazilian recently concluded a trial period with the defending Absa Premiership champions and it is believed that he has impressed both Mosimane and his technical staff during his time at the club.

The youngster was spotted by the former Bafana Bafana coach while he was scouting current centre back Ricardo Nascimento. Junior was on a loan at Portuguese outfit Coimbra and is currently without a club.

Speaking to the media about signing the Brazilian, Mosimane admitted that there is a possibility of a deal being done, but they are weighing up the options.

‘Nathan Junior, we are still making a decision on him,’ said Mosimane.

‘He has gone back to Brazil. He will be back very soon. There’s a possibility [that Sundowns will sign him].’

If signed, Junior will add to the growing ranks of South Americans at Masandawana with the likes of Jose Ali Meza, Gaston Sirino and Nascimento already there.

However, the signing could also create an issue for the Brazilians, who have already filled their quota of five foreigners and will have to get rid of one of them in order to complete any deal.
